Michigan Hummer Owners Events List - May 2008
May 1st, 2008 by phazer42The trail clean up with the GLFWDA and the two trackers was great, we had 9 Hummer Owners present supporting our cause. After asking Harvey Hummer to participate, they became a sponsor for the event and we all had a great time. We had 16 folks from various positions within the government ranging from State Representatives, to DNR officers, Township Assessors, Forestry Service etc… There were 181 registered participants for the event, 100 cubic yards of trash cleaned, 65 tires (donated to be recylced), 35 gallons of “liquid” and 3 items transfered over to the authorities for aid in citations / prosecution. We are looking at adding another trail clean up in Oakland County in the fall. More details to follow.
Gil Herman (Doc) has been working with Travis at www.rubberduck4×4.com on his next field fix. He is currently looking for a volunteer who wants to install something from Travis’s site for this field fix. This will take place the day after the DreamCruise and you will likely get a discount on the parts. Either contract Travis or Doc for details.
Another Silver Lake event is scheduled for the middle of July. The date may move to a weekday to avoid the voucher system - details to follow.
Thanks for those sending me info on events, keep them coming. If you want to start an event, or want to get a group of Hummers to go somewhere let me know and I will pass the word along….
Remember always bring a CB w/ external antenna, first aid kit, recovery gear and weather appropriate clothes when you are off-roading.
